Scope

The CMRS Newsletter collection includes electronic issues of the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies newsletter. The newsletter is published and distributed by the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies (CMRS) at the American University in Cairo. Electronic issues of the CMRS Newsletter are collected and described for inclusion in AUC's Digital Archive and Research Repository (DAR Repository). [1] Members of the CMRS may submit items to this collection. All files and metadata are reviewed by the University Records Manager.

Provenance

The CMRS Newsletter collection was created in December 2013. Collection and description of electronic issues of the newsletters is an ongoing project managed by the Records Management unit of the Rare Books and Special Collections Library. The collection is publicly accessible in the Digital Archive and Research Repository.

Metadata

The following table instructs staff from the CMRS on how to enter descriptive information about issues of the CMRS Newsletter. Some fields in the item submission template are not included in these instructions, and should be left blank.

The Center for Migration and Refugee Studies (CMRS) offered seven short courses during the winter and summer of 2013. CMRS's two courses on international refugee law and psychosocial issues of refugees were offered in May and June 2013. Moreover, the popular course on refugee and migration movements in the Middle East and North Africa, was offered twice, in January and June 2013. In addition, the following three new courses were developed and offered during the winter and summer sessions:
